Expectations: A first hand experience of peasantry life in Uganda
My journey in November of 2019 took me to see the Gorillas of Bwindi in Uganda, and whilst I was there I wanted to experience true rural life in some of the most remote and poorest parts of Uganda. Africa gets a lot of coverage on its poverty, politics and wars, but I’m not a photojournalist, so instead I wanted to immerse myself in the culture of Uganda, and experience life with some of the people that make up the ever increasing ‘peasant’ population in what is meant to be one of the richer parts of Africa. Please read my story of the ‘Expectations’ project here. You can also watch a behind-the-scenes video here as well as check out my Instagram page for more footage and photos.
